Another lucky escape after near drowning at La Pinta beach

In a day of lucky escapes, a 78-year-old man is recovering this evening from a near drowning just before 4pm this afternoon at the La Pinta beach at Puerto Colon. The man, said to be a foreigner in Spain, was rescued by the lifeguard at the beach and when emergency services arrived, he was assisted by paramedics who transferred him by ambulance to Hospitén Sur, where he is said to be doing fine.

Escape with just grazes for passengers of car that fell from Los Olivos sliproad onto TF1

In a lucky escape verging on the miraculous, four young men, occupants of a Peugeot 206, walked away unscathed at lunchtime today after the car fell from the Los Olivos sliproad onto the TF1 northbound verge. Emergency services were called out and were on site almost immediately; attending were the Guardia Civil, Cabildo road teams, and an ambulance. Amazingly, paramedics only had to treat two of the car’s occupants for grazes to elbows and hands.
