New page added for private long-term lets available and wanted
I have set up a new page for long-term lets available and wanted. It’s under the Useful Stuff tab at the top, direct link is HERE. As I say on that page, I occasionally get emails from people looking for long-term tenants for their properties, and more frequently from people seeking long-term lets. I am more than happy for people to use this page to advertise any private long-term lets available, or for those who are seeking accommodation.
Police arrest Los Cristianos serial burglar
National Police have arrested a 32-year-old man for 15 thefts from vehicles and dwellings in Los Cristianos. Police say that the man detained is called Ivan V.H., familiarly known as “El Gomero”, and that his robbery spree caused great alarm in several complexes in Avda Juan Carlos I, the road that goes from the TF1 down to the fountain roundabout and straight down past the health centre, the Princesa Dácil, and down to the Arona Gran Hotel. Police had received various denuncias about burglaries of a wide range of items, including computers, sun glasses, and electronic gadgets. “El Gomera” has been arrested before over the last few months for similar offences. He is now in police custody being processed.
Diver dies near Los Cristianos
Sadly, a 47-year-old diver died this morning after suffering a heart attack shortly after starting his dive near to Los Cristianos. Emergency services were called out just before 11am with reports that he had been pulled out of the water but was unconscious on the boat. Resuscitation attempts were carried out even as the boat was heading for Los Cristianos harbour, where efforts were taken up by paramedics, but nothing they could do was able to bring the poor soul back to life. The Guardia Civil is carrying out the necessary formalities.
