A 55-year-old woman is seriously ill in hospital tonight after nearly drowning at Las Galletas just before 6.30 this evening. Emergency services were called out with reports that she had been pulled unconscious from the water by fellow bathers. Once at the scene, paramedics managed to resuscitate her, and after she was stabilized, they transferred her to Candelaria hospital where she remains in critical condition, but alive.
