Los Gigantes beach reopens after extensive works following tragedy where two women died

The Los Gigantes beach, Playa de Los Guíos, is to re-open at noon today now that works for its renovations and improvement have finished. It will be remembered for a long time as the beach where tragedy came out of a blue sky, when two women died in a massive rockfall on 1 November 2009, as posted HERE and HERE. Mayor Juan Damián Gorrín Ramos officially received the works from the constructor Dragados yesterday, the company which has carried out extensive work costing around half a million Euros to secure the cliff face and improve the access road.
