A driver, still unidentified, died last night in an horrific accident when a car overturned and caught fire on the TF38 Chio to Boca Tauce road in Guía de Isora. Emergency services were called out shortly before 11pm with several reports of the accident, and saying that a person was trapped inside. The fire spread to nearby trees and it took until 3am or so until it was brought under control.

A range of emergency services including bomberos and National Park units, Cecopin (insular operative coordination centre) and police were involved, and the Guardia Civil is today continuing to investigate who the poor person is who died in the vehicle, and the nature of the accident in which they lost their life.
