The Canarian Government has today approved plans for five more windfarms in east Tenerife. The proposal, from the Economy and Industry department, will allow four “parques eólicos” in the Arico municipality, with a capacity of 78,75 MW and a fifth in the Grandilla municipality with a capacity of 18,4 MW. The necessary planning revisions for the land affected by the farms will also take place as part of the process, and the decree itself, which was passed today, is part of the regional renewable energy strategy.
