Helicopter rescue for Callao Salvaje balcony fall

A 27-year-old man was rescued by helicopter after falling from a balcony in the Las Barandas complex in Callao Salvaje shortly after 10pm last night. The complex can just be seen on top of the cliff at the right of the above photo (thanks to Nova Howard). The man received multiple but thankfully minor injuries, and after being flown to the Adeje bomberos helipad, was transferred by ambulance to Hospitén Sur.

  • Thankfully the man is OK, it could have been so much worse.

Do you think he will he be charged for the emergency services which were provided…..I assume the reason for his fall was caused by a reckless act.

  • It will be interesting to see how the emergency services react to such a call-out on the occasions where alcohol is involved (though there’s no suggestion that this is the case on this occasion).

  • Why was the helicopter and boat searching the left side near the cliffs if the man went over on the right?

  • No idea, sorry. Maybe the current, but there’s no information in the emergency feeds.

  • The current carried the gut almost to Paraiso which is why the chopper was over there.
