Man arrested at Los Rodeos for smuggling drugs into Tenerife hidden inside his body

A 45-year-old man identified by the initials O.A.E.R. has been arrested in Los Rodeos airport in north Tenerife after being searched for drugs as he arrived on a flight from the mainland. National Police confirm that after he was taken to hospital for tests to confirm that he was carrying drugs inside his body, he was found to have swallowed 53 capsules containing 649 grams of cocaine. He is being charged with trafficking and is now in prison awaiting trial. C7
