Man critically ill after drowning in Las Galletas

A 65-year-old man is gravely ill after drowning while swimming in Las Galletas this afternoon. Emergency services were called shortly before 1pm with reports that a man had been pulled from the water after being found floating face down, and without showing any signs of life. The bomberos were first on the scene and took up attempts to resuscitate the man, followed quickly by paramedics when they arrived. Mercifully, they managed to bring him back to life and, after stabilizing him, transferred him to Hospiten Sur, where he remains in critical condition, but alive.
