Oktoberfest Costa Adeje 12-22 October
Update 12 October: Here are a few photos that I took this evening, and which I hope convey the atmosphere. The food was good and reasonably priced, there was VERY LOUD music from a Canarian band interspersed with prerecorded oompah music, drink flowed freely, and not just a play area outside but a small fair! There was even the occasional sight of lederhosen …
Update 11 October: The organizers of the Costa Adeje Oktoberfest, which starts tomorrow, say that some 5,000 litres of beer and 1,000 kilos of meat will be on offer over the ten days of the beer festival. They expect between 10,000 and 15,000 people to attend. I’ll be one!
Original post 12 September: It’s one of the things that Munich is most renowned for, but an Oktoberfest is now going to be held in Tenerife too. The traditional German beer festival will take place over twelve days between 12 and 22 October with Canarian and German food, Canarian wines and, of course, German beers, as well as typical Bavarian music. The archetypal beer tent will be set up in front of Miraverde in the Costa Adeje, and will have an attraction park alongside for all the family. The Oktoberfest will be open between 5pm and midnight between Monday and Thursday, and 11am to 2am on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Entrance will be free, and prices inside the tent will be “popular”. The Oktoberfest will coincide with Adeje’s Fiestas Patronales de Nuestra Señora de la Encarnación.
