Rotary Santa Cruz are organizing a Carnival Solidario with dinner on Friday, 20 February, at 8.30pm in the Mencey hotel on the Ramblas in Santa Cruz. The event, which costs €50 to attend, is to raise money to acquire a nine-seater minibus adapted for Adeje’s San Juan Association, a formal asociación – i.e. a charity – which works to provide assistance, rehabilitation, education and social integration for people with special needs.

The association, founded in 1994, works in addition as a partner to the Canarian government to provide social care and also has a residential centre for ten adults, a daycare centre for forty individuals, and runs programmes and courses as part of a range of activities to help those with special needs. The one thing it needs is an adapted vehicle, and the Rotarians hope that the Carnival Solidario will attract a couple of hundred attendees to be able to afford the bus in one go.

The event is being sponsored by Mutua Tinerfeña, Teleférico del Teide and Loro Parque, and collaborated with by KN Hoteles, Exinte, Fedett, Espectáculos Bravo Tenerife, Arco Publicidad, Intensa Recursos Humanos, Óptica Downes, Grupo Emplea, Solución Gráfica, Damabe ETT, Iberostar, CajaSiete, Canarias.com, Jamones BYC and Vodafone. For more information or to arrange attendance, call Doris Martínez Ferrero on 922 271 591 or 652 592 075, or send an email to dorismartinez@marismacomunicacion.com
