Teenager in hospital with critical head injuries after skateboarding in Los Gigantes

A teenager is critically ill in Candelaria hospital after coming off his skateboard in C/ Hibiscos in Los Gigantes at 9.30 this morning. Emergency services were called out with reports that the 15-year-old had received head injuries in the fall and paramedics established that his injuries were so life-threatening that they immobilized and stabilized him at the scene, and then transferred him to the north by helicopter. I hope this youngster is OK, but we see skateboarders on the main hill up to our village coming down at what must be 50km/h with no protection of any sort on their limbs or heads. I don’t know what could be done to protect them, but something needs to happen before one of them loses their life.
