Tenerife Symphony Orchestra in Los Cristianos
Update 5 May: Well I have to say this auditorium is a total credit to Los Cristianos! It’s going to be THE concert hall for south Tenerife, and after seeing the OST there this evening, I can personally vouch for the acoustics and feel of the place.
It’s a simply marvellous concert hall, plenty large enough to hold a full symphony orchestra, but small enough to feel intimate, and I can well imagine chamber music being performed there, whereas it would be lost in a grand concert hall.
It was only inaugurated in March, so it’s still brand new, but this is going to be a major asset for both Los Cristianos and for south Tenerife in years to come.
Original post 3 May: This Thursday offers a rare chance to get to hear the marvellous Tenerife Symphony Orchestra in south Tenerife. The orchestra will be in the new Infanta Leonor auditorium in Los Cristianos this Thursday, the 5th, at 8pm, performing Lutos Awski’s Funeral Music, Stravinski’s Pulcinella, and Prokofiev’s 5th Symphony.
Tickets, costing just €10 each, are available from the Cultural Centre information desk between 5pm and 8pm tomorrow, or available two hours before the performance begins. They can also be acquired by phone to 010 (or 922 761 600 if outside Arona). More information HERE.
