The east coast of Tenerife up to Santa Cruz and across to La Laguna has had some torrential downpours today, and now Aemet has issued a yellow alert for the whole of tomorrow, Thursday, for the whole of Tenerife as well as La Gomera, La Palma and El Hierro for more heavy rain to 20 litres per square metre per hour. Gran Canaria has suffered worst over the past 24 hours, with up to 60 litres per square metre per hour in some parts, closing some roads and breaking others. Tomorrow’s alert, however, is just for the western islands.
