Updated 21 October: Arona Ayuntamiento has issued a reminder to drivers that the TF-51 Arona to La Escalona road will be closed to traffic between 7.30am and 6pm tomorrow for the rally. The council says that access to Vilaflor will be via El Frontón, El Roque, Granadilla de Abona and Guía de Isora.
Updated 20 October: The Italian contingent is here! Arona Ayuntamiento has been revelling in the arrival of European motor racing champion Simone Faggioli along with the cars which have arrived by ferry from Barcelona. They, along with other competitors and their vehicles, will be on display from 3pm tomorrow for the technical checks and final documentation at CC Parque Santiago 6 in El Camisón. And of course they will all be on view again on Saturday for the race itself.
Original post 8 September: Arona Ayuntamiento’s tourism and sports departments have announced the 14th Subida Arona – La Escalona rally to be held on 21 and 22 October. The race, organized by Escudería Zapatera Sport Arona, will be an international one this year, and aims to set Arona as the national capital of mountain rallying. Arona says that the race is the most important and prestigious rally held in Tenerife, and is recognized as such internationally.
