Update 3 January 2011: January 2011’s sales will start on 7 January, the same as last year, and again finish on 3 March. Some stores have already jumped the gun in the hope of increasing sales in the last-minute Kings’ shopping, but even those who toe the line might be offering bargain-hunting shoppers significant savings as they try to recoup some advantage after a year that all say has been commercially dire.
Original post 7 January 2010: The January sales start today throughout the Canaries. The date was announced last month by the Dirección General de Comercio, and has the backing of all the islands’ commissions, businesses, unions and consumer associations.
The date was chosen so that the sales could start as soon as possible after Kings’ Day on the 6th, to give businesses the best possible chance to have a successful “rebajas”. The sales will finish on 6 March.
The Summer Sales will be from 1 July to 31 August. Happy bargain hunting!
