I’ve just updated the Beautiful Tenerife page with this photo from Alys French of wild flowers in the Valle de Arriba area above Santiago del Teide. The page is HERE, and is also in one of the boxes under the main photo in the front page header. This one is just lovely! Alys says:
it was taken while walking on one of the many paths at the top of Valle de Arriba, go straight through Santiago del Teide, (going North), just outside town, take first right, to road sign-posted Valle de Arriba, go about a mile, turn right, wiggle up a narrow road, veer slightly left, ignore the 0ne-way sign (!), and drive up & up, carefully as it’s very narrow & a bit overgrown, but not precipitous. You eventually arrive at a white shrine. Plenty of parking. Beautiful paths go off mainly through agricultural land, some still farmed, some abandoned. The flowers are stunning at the moment. We rarely meet anyone up there – what a shame more visitors don’t explore!
I hope the page begins to convey the range and beauty of Tenerife’s nature, and I’m always happy to add more photos of this lovely island! Just email them to me at firstname.lastname@example.org.
