It has been like an open wound in Arona for years, but finally, five years after the general town planning (Plan General de Ordenación) for the whole municipality was confirmed as illegal (see HERE) the counci has announced that two public surveys will be carried out for the new PGO where the 100,000 or so local residents will be able to give their opinions on almost all aspects of the new plans, on infrastructure, new gardens, types of building, mobility models, population growth plans, renewable energy, parking, cycle lanes, and much more.

The surveys – one long and one short according to personal preference of the responder – will be able to be accessed from this coming week via the council’s website HERE, and the responses will serve as the basis, the council says, on which the new PGO will be drawn up to serve the needs of local residents for decades to come.
