Arts and crafts in Tenerife – getting a “carné de artesanía” as new application window opens

Anyone who’s been to any of the arts and crafts fairs throughout Tenerife will probably have wondered how one would go about getting a stall to sell their own painting, or jewellery, pottery, homemade cakes etc. Artisan fairs are a regular event throughout Tenerife, and they are always well attended by people enjoying viewing and often buying the products of some really creative and talented individuals. The stallholders in these officially run fairs, though, must have an artisan card, a carné de artesano, and these can be applied for in Spring and Autumn every year.

Crafters apply by filling out a form and submitting an example of their work, and their cards are then awarded by the Tenerife Cabildo. And the Cabildo has just announced the latest application window, which runs from this coming Monday 17 September to Tuesday 16 October. Applications are submitted to the Cabildo’s Business and Employment Department, and there is more information from Artesanía de Tenerife HERE.

The link does actually work, it’s just a problem with the security certificate for Artesania’s website. The site is safe, it’s just its certificate. Simply remove the “s” from the “https” at the start of the URL.
