Between 3 and 31 August, the Magma Centre will be home to the “Colinas en Magma” exhibition, an exposition of the work of Leon-born but Los Cristianos-resident artist Baltasar Pérez Colinas. Entry is free, and all proceeds from the sale of paintings will be donated to El Hierro residents who have been adversely affected by the recent volcanic process.
Favourite techniques employed in Baltasar Pérez Colinas’ work include pencil, watercolor, oil and acrylic, and his paintings range through the traditional to Pop Art and Conceptual Art. Some 40 pieces will be exhibited, mostly large format paintings, but also 4 sculptures.
The exhibition has benefited from the collaboration of Magma Arte & Congresos, Naviera Armas, La Opinión de Tenerife, Diario de Avisos, Cabildo de El Hierro, Terra Magma Inmuebles, Magazine Spend In, Soviten, Hotel Jardines Nivaria, Hotel Bahía del Duque, Centro Comercial El Duque and Hotel Sheraton La Caleta.
The exhibition, together with the MagMaCafe bar, will be open Monday to Thursday 12 midday to 6pm, Friday 12 midday to 12 midnight, and Saturday 6pm to 12 midnight. More info from the Magma site HERE (hopefully I’ve set the link to open in English).
