Body found on roadside in La Camella could be San Miguel man missing since March

Update 13 July: It does now seem that the body is of the 53-year-old San Miguel man, Pedro Miguel Y.L., who disappeared in March. The Guardia Civil say that remnants of clothing match those described in the report of his disappearance four months ago. DNA tests are awaited to confirm this one way or another. El Dia

Original post 12 July: Police are investigating the discovery of a badly decomposed body in La Camella around midday on Sunday.  The remains were found by a hunter who was walking near the TF28 between La Camella and Valle San Lorenzo.

The area was teeming with police, as can be imagined, with Arona Policía Local, Guardia Civil patrols, a Government GES rescue helicopter, as well as Armed Institute Policía Judicial officers all attending the scene. The body was removed as soon as the court order was obtained, and was taken to the Instituto de Medicina Legal (IML) in Santa Cruz for analysis, including attempting to identify the cause of death.

At present, the poor soul’s own identity is unkown, but there is an unresolved disappearance which is being considered as related to this grim discovery, namely a San Miguel man who disappeared after an argument with his wife, who lived in La Camella.  PV
