Adeje Policía Local have arrested a British citizen identified as David Hughes, born in 1959, who had not only a Spanish Court warrant, but also an Interpol search order out for his arrest for counterfeiting and producing fake credit cards.
It seems that Mr Hughes, who employed various false identities, tried to avoid arrest by arguing that he had lost his passport, but he was discovered to be the individual sought once he was taken into custody and his fingerprints were taken and checked. Along with the confirmation of identity came that of at least 18 prior convictions for violent behaviour and fraud, and summones from courts in Marbella, Barcelona, Valencia and Benidorm (Alicante).
Mr Hughes will be appearing in Arona court very soon to be processed for transfer to the National Court. La Opinion
