Body found of missing Anaga man

Update 12 May: Canarian radio is reporting that a body has been found in the Anaga area and that it is of Manuel de la Concepción García Izquierdo, who has been missing since 22 April.

Update 30 April: After this man’s shoe and stick were found the day before yesterday, the national police have said that this has now become a murder enquiry. The search continues.

Update 28 April: There is no confirmed information, but hints that all might be far from well with TV reports this morning that this man’s sandal and walking pole have been found in the area. The search has now intensified, and a helicopter has joined the efforts to find Manuel de la Concepción García Izquierdo.

Original post 27 April: Authorities and emergency services were joined by volunteers yesterday to search for Manuel de la Concepción García Izquierdo who has not been seen since last Wednesday when he disappeared in the Afur area of the Anaga rural park. His family are desperate for news of the 66-year-old, who is 1.77m (5′ 10″) tall and weighs 78 kilos (just over 12 stone). When he was last seen, he was wearing black trousers, a grey jacket, and a striped cap. The search continues, and if anyone has any information, please contact the police or 112.
