Updated 5.30pm: Paul’s family have issued the following statement.
We are seeking the safe return of the our much-loved son, brother, uncle and friend Paul Joss who has gone missing while on holiday in Tenerife.
Paul Joss, 36, of Barrhead in East Renfrewshire, was last seen in Puerto de la Cruz, Tenerife on Sunday, 7th January 2018 between 3pm and 4pm.
He had been staying at the Checkin Concordia Playa, Puerto de la Cruz, North Tenerife.
Paul flew out on a Jet2 flight from Glasgow International Airport on the 31st of December 2017.
He was due to return on Sunday 7th of January, 2018 but never made his flight.
Paul, a project manager/engineer and who was travelling alone, is described by friends as a mild-mannered and friendly person.
He is 5′ 10″ tall, of medium build and with dark brown hair.
Paul’s family ask that anyone who spoke to Paul during his trip to Tenerife or may know of his current whereabouts to please get in touch via email firstname.lastname@example.org.
Any updates in the search for Paul will be made via email and the family politely request that they are left in peace so that they can focus fully on the search.
Paul’s sister Isabelle Joss said: “We are all extremely worried of his whereabouts.
“This is compeletely out of character for Paul who keeps in touch with his friends and family on a daily basis.”
“We are asking for anyone who spoke to Paul during his stay in Tenerife to get in touch and are particularly keen to hear from anyone who spoke to Paul or saw him on Sunday or afterwards.
“Please, please let us know you are ok Paul, all your beloved family, friends and work colleagues are so very worried about you.
“We just want to know that you are safe.”
Original post 9 January: The family and friends of Paul Joss are trying to locate him after he went missing in Tenerife. The 36-year-old Scot last made contact with friends on Sunday afternoon to say he had missed his flight home after a holiday in Puerto de la Cruz and was arranging another flight but was suffering from sunstroke. He has not been heard of since. Paul has black hair and is of medium build, and it seems the consulate and police are involved in searching for him.
