Canaries from space

Just thought I’d post this view of the Canaries this morning taken at 11am from Sentinel 3, a European Space Agency Earth observation satellite, part of the EU’s Earth observation Copernicus Programme. The programme constantly surveys the planet, building up a global real-time picture of pollution, urban development, environmental challenges like the polar regions and rainforest degradation … we know about the Amazon destruction, for example, because of ESA satellite work like this. And of course, it gives us images of home … like this one.
