Update 14 February 2015: Chris Wood says that the Woods The Estate Agents website is now ready, and that the 0% estate agency is up and running – the following image shows the options. Links to the website, as well as Woods’ Facebook page, are below, and there’s also a Woods twitter HERE. As I said in December’s post, a new start in a new year. Good luck to them!
Original post 10 December 2014: Anyone who has had anything to do with property in Tenerife over the last twenty or so years will know the name of David Wood. He has, in fact, more than 30 years’ property experience in the Canaries including with Gomasper before becoming a partner in what was at the time the largest independent estate agents here, Horizon Property Group SL. And now, Chris Wood, David’s son is already back, setting up a new family estate agency.
All the indications from 2014 have shown that the Spanish property market has reached rock bottom, the only question being how long it would take for it to start to recover. The arrival of Woods The Estate Agents, which comprises David, his wife Helen, and his sons Chris and Nick, suggests that in the Canaries at least, that recovery will be sooner rather than later. The business will initially be run entirely online but will still offer the same traditional estate agency service to both buyer, seller, tenant and landlord. There will be a range of selling packages for vendors and landlords to choose from – including a zero percent commission option – as well optional extras to enhance your listing like virtual video tours, aerial photography, floorplans, featured listings, etc.
Woods The Estate Agents director Chris Wood says that the website is almost ready but that the agency is now prepared to take on properties: the website is HERE, and there is also a Facebook page HERE which you can “like” in order to stay up to date with their news. Chris says that from January they will be doing a lot of advertising and that now is therefore the best time to get properties listed ready for the launch – a new start in a new year. Sales folders are being designed by talented local graphic art designer Angie Hill of Nu Arte.
Suddenly, things just feel that bit more positive – David always did seem to have that effect! Good luck to the agency, and let’s hope that it does indeed foreshadow an equal success for Tenerife’s property market over the coming years.
