Original post 25 October: Tenerife’s cuisine will be the star of December’s issue of Jamie Magazine, with 11 pages in the famous chef Jamie Oliver’s food publication. The island’s gastronomy will be brought to a whole new audience, says president of the Cabildo Carlos Alonso, who confirmed that a journalist and photographer have been in Tenerife for several days, working with Turismo de Tenerife and Saborea Tenerife. Sr Alonso said that it was a way of promoting Tenerife itself, too, for very little investment, and given that the publication has a coverage of some 150,000 readers, will offer yet another “niche” look at the island from a tourism perspective to a wide audience. The feature will include food products and recipes, as well as wines, restaurants, honey and cookery workshops.
