Diesel spill closes Playa San Juan beach

Guía de Isora Ayuntamiento has announced that a red flag has been raised at Playa San Juan this afternoon after a diesel spill from a boat in the harbour. The flag means that for public health and safety reasons the council has banned bathers from going in the sea at this beach until the spill is cleared up.

  1. We walked past the beach earlier today and a green flag was flying. Lots of people on the beach and in the water.

The question is whether the red flag is still flying. If it is not, then yes it will have been cleared up. If it is, then these bathers are disregarding official advice.

  3. I can see plenty of people swimming in the sea at San Juan beach right now, so maybe it was all cleared up very quickly
