Dog Days of Summer – Doggy paddling in Alcalá and Playa San Juan as Guía de Isora gives the borough’s pets a dedicated swimming pool

Guía de Isora Ayuntamiento has announced a couple of leisure weekends this month devoted to dogs and their owners. Under the heading Summer Dog, it offers Un Chapuzón para tu Amigo (A Dip for your Friend) in a specially-adapted pool which wil be installed in the Plaza del Llano in Alcalá this coming Saturday and Sunday 8 and 9 September, and at the start of Avda del Emigrante (next to the biohealth park) in Playa San Juan on Saturday and Sunday next week, 15 and 16 September. Both pools will be open from 11am to 8pm, and there will be other dog-related games and activities on offer as well for the pets of the borough and their owners. Entry is free, and the council stresses that owners should not bring toys or balls or other types of games which could cause friction between dogs, and that bitches on heat should be kept away; dogs defined as “potentially dangerous” (see HERE) will be welcomed provided they are wearing a muzzle.
