The IAC (Instituto Astrofisico de Canarias) has said this could be a good year for the Draconid meteor shower, which comes from the the debris of comet 21P/Giacobini- Zinner, with up to 800 meteors an hour at maximum today between 5 and 10pm. Clearly, during daylight, or with a good moon, the spectacle won’t be all that it might be, but it’s still worth keeping an eye out after dusk up to 10pm. The IAC has provided the map above as a guide to the focus of the shower.  More information from the IAC HERE (I’m afraid it’s not available in English).
