El Médano to host World Windsurf Championships for 5th consecutive year

El Médano will host the Professional Windsurfers Association (PWA) World Windsurf Championships for the fifth consecutive year between 3 and 9 August in playa de El Cabezo. Granarilla mayor Jaime González said that El Médano’s was of the utmost importance as a tourist destination for watersports, and that the event gave the seal of distinction to the Granadilla coastline, and to Tenerife and the Canaries.

El Cabezo beach will be the focus point of the international championship for the eight days of the competition, which will see around 32 participants in the men’s category and 16 in the women’s.
