San Miguel Ayuntamiento, through the Dept of Employment and Local Development, and the Association of Businessmen and Professionals, in collaboration with Cajasiete, will be holding the first Fiesta del Saldo Fin de Verano (End of Summer Clearance Fair) in the Agricultural Market in Las Chafiras on Saturday.
Goods will be on sale with up to 50% reductions, and there will be children’s attractions, an artisan fair, and folklore performances, as well as other activities. Cristina Marrero, Councillor for Employment and Local Development, says that the idea is to help with small and medium businesses’ cash flow, and to help them renew stock and optimize rotation and storage of produce.
The Fair will hopefully complement the sales from the normal market which is held on the same day, and give businesses a chance to sell off cheaply those items which they have been left with at the end of the season. It’s not clear to me what sort of things they will be selling at this Clearance Fair, but it can’t be just food given the reference to stock left over at the end of season. Whatever it is, it might be worth a visit to pick up a bargain. DA
