A 21-year-old man died around 3.30 this morning at km80 on the TF1 in Adeje after crashing his Ford Fiesta while driving the wrong way on the motorway. The car collided head-on with a Toyota Hilux, whose 44-year-old driver and four passengers, children between 10 and 15 years of age, were all injured in the accident.
The occupants of the Hilux were transferred to Hospitén Sur, the driver with an ankle injury, and the children with neck and abdominal injuries. Thankfully none is in a serious condition. The Fiesta driver was trapped in his vehicle and had to be cut out by bomberos. The ambulance teams which attended could do no more than confirm his death at the scene. La Opinion
