First cases of A/H1N1 flu in Tenerife

Tenerife has its first cases of the A/H1N1 virus (swine flu as it was incorrectly known at first). Sanidad has confirmed the results of two sets of tests carried out at the Microbiology Unit at HUC (Hospital Universitario de Canarias) on a couple who recently returned from the USA. Neither appears to have a severe case of the flu, and the couple has not been admitted to hospital. The tests have been sent for reconfirmation to the National Microbiology Centre. Diario de Avisos
