First “hosepipe ban” in the Canaries in 2016 introduced in La Gomera

It hasn’t rained, properly, for a long time, and if the situation continues, there could be trouble ahaead. And with this in mind, Vallehermoso Ayuntamiento in La Gomera has become the first to introduce a “hosepipe ban”. The public in the municipality are now banned from using domestic supplies for agricultural irrigation or gardening purposes, or for washing their vehicles. The council says that it is looking ahead and has taken the action after consultation with La Gomera’s Consejo de Aguas which is itself concerned over the continued drought. I doubt this will be the first council to bring in such a ban … unless the rains come.
