First serious accident on “chicken-run” TF1 sees two men in hospital with serious injuries

Two young men, one of 22 and the other of 26, were seriously injured in a head-on collision last night just after 1am on the TF1 “chicken run” section through Guía de Isora. One needed to be cut out of his vehicle by bomberos, and both were stabilized by medics at the scene and then transferred to Candelaria hospital, the first with multiple injuries and the second with serious abdominal injuries. Their conditions are said to be serious.

I’m afraid that this won’t be the last such accident on that controversial stretch of road, which has already attracted much criticism, with Guía de Isora mayor Pedro Martín himself calling for it to be widened into a normal two lane carriageway style motorway.
