Update 21 November: A 40-year-old woman said to be a foreigner in Spain is in hospital tonight after being resuscitated from a heart attack in Torviscas Bajo. The incident occurred minutes before 7pm in the restaurant of an hotel in Calle Ernesto Santi, the road that leads from between Sunset Bay and Sunset Harbour past the Esmerelda and Iberostar hotels and up to the Playa Olid apartments … and where only yesterday an 86-year-old man was resuscitated from cardiac arrest after a near drowning, as posted immediately below. Emergency services were called out to the woman and after resuscitating and stabilizing her, she too was transferred to Hospitén Sur where she remains in a critical condition, but alive.
Original post 20 November: An 86-year-old man, said to be a foreigner in Spain, is in hospital this evening after suffering a heart attack after nearly drowning in Torviscas Bajo at 2.30 this afternoon. The emergency report says that he was in cardiac arrest when paramedics arrived, and that the incident was recorded in Calle Ernesto Santi; this is the road that leads from between Sunset Bay and Sunset Harbour past the Esmerelda and Iberostar hotels and up to the Playa Olid apartments. Thanks to the actions of the ambulance teams he was resuscitated and, when stabilized, transferred to Hospitén Sur, where he remains in grave condition, but alive.
