Four people are in hospital after two head-on collisions in Tenerife within a few hours last night. The first accident occurred on the TF47 near Playa La Arena in Guía de Isora, with emergency services called out just before 11pm to the incident in which a 77-year-old man had received injuries to the head and a 36-year-old man had been wounded in the face. The elder man was taken to Hospiten Sur and the younger to Hospital Quirón Costa Adeje: neither is said to be in serious condition.
The second incident was far worse, however, with emergency services saying they were called out shortly before 5am this morning with reports that someone was trapped in their car in a frontal collision on the TF64 near El Salto in Granadilla. Bomberos attending the incident had to cut one of the two victims of their vehicle while ambulance crew found that a 25-year-old woman had received serious stomach injuries in the impact while the 70-year-old man in the other vehicle had received severe chest injuries. The woman was transferred to HUC and the man to Candelaria Hospital: both are said to be in grave condition.
