A 30-year-old French paraglider died this lunchtime after falling into a barranco. Emergency services say that they were called out shortly before 1pm with reports that one of a group of paragliders had not landed in Puertito de Güímar as he had been supposed to. Rescue resources including a helicopter were dispatched to where the man had been seen heading for, an area in the barranco de La Caleta, Fasnia, but sadly, medical helicopter crew found him in cardiac arrest and despite their efforts at resuscitation while he was being flown to TFN La Laguna, they were unable to save him and he was pronounced dead on arrival.
