A few tickets still available for the full and complete original version of West Side Story this Thursday to Saturday in Santa Cruz auditorium

Updated 1 July: And they’re setting up the scenery in the auditorium for West Side Story this Thursday, Friday and Saturday. The Cabildo says that a few tickets are still available so if you haven’t got yours yet, there might still be time. I have mine, can’t wait!

Original post 15 April: The classic Broadway musical West Side Story is coming to the Santa Cruz auditorium between 4 and 6 July, the Cabildo has announced. There will be five performances of the original and complete version of the tragic love story – a modern Romeo and Juliet – against the backdrop of the gang culture of the New York Jets and the Puerto Rican Sharks: the first performance will be on the 4th at 8.30pm, while there will be two performances at 6pm and 10pm on the 5th and 6th. Tickets are available from the auditorium box office between 10am and 7.30pm Monday to Saturday (except fiestas), online at www.auditoriodetenerife.com or by phone to 902 317 327. The video below will hopefully give a flavour of what’s in store in case anyone still doesn’t know the stage or film production!

  1. West Side Story was sensational. The music, dance and stage sets were out of the top draw and to watch it in the fabulous auditoria was very special.I speak very little Spanish but that did not diminish from a truly memorable experience. The part of Maria was the best I’ve seen anywhere .

I agree Paul! And the friend I was with could hardly breathe when the actor playing Tony was singing the song Maria! She said it was the best version she’s heard anywhere … and she knows the original inside out! And the way the whole audience jumped and gasped when he was shot in the end … it was a stunning production.
