German hiker missing in Masca barranco

Update 11am: Bomberos have found the 29-year-old who was reported missing at 10pm last evening. His family had called in emergency services after leaving him at the top of the barranco to walk down to the coast.

Original post: There’s an orange alert for a cold snap bringing wild seas, high winds, rain, and snow above 1,500, the whole national park is virtually shut down with the Teleférico shut and the two north access roads closed to traffic, and yet emergency services have to turn out to search for a German walker who has been reported missing in the Masca barranco. GES search and rescue teams are involved, as are bomberos and the Guardia Civil. Given the advance notice this weather front has received over the past few days, I wouldn’t be too happy if I were one of them …
