Guía de Isora will ensure Playa San Juan beach is clean and has lifeguards even though it will be without sunbeds and kiosk this summer

Guía de Isora Ayuntamiento has confirmed that Playa San Juan will not have its sunbeds and beach bar back until Costas approves the concession of a new franchise. In the meantime, the beach will continue to be cleaned and lifeguard services maintained by the Council given what it says are the problems being faced by the current concession holder of beach services which is suffering problems shared by many businesses presently, especially in the tourism sector.

In this case, the problems have been exacerbated by Costas not yet renewing authorizations that were applied for last year, and repeatedly chased, the Ayuntamiento claims. The Council apologizes for any inconvenience this may cause locals wanting to enjoy the beach in the same conditions of safety as previously, but it hardly seems the Council’s fault that a double whammy of covid19’s effect on local tourism-related businesses and the glacial speed at which Costas sometimes seems to work has stymied summer enjoyment of a lovely and very popular beach.
