A walker, said to be a 65-year-old foreign woman, was thankfully only slightly hurt in a fall while climbing the Roque del Conde just before 2pm this afternoon. She is said to have received leg injuries for which she needed medical assistance. Since she was unable to move and her fall was in an area of difficult terrain, a medical helicopter was dispatched to rescue her. As with the paraglider I’ve just posted about, the helicopter couldn’t land and so the paramedics had to be lowered down to the scene of the accident. After treating her on the spot, they then winched her on board and flew her to the Bomberos helipad in Adeje, where an ambulance was waiting to take her to Hospitén Sur.
