Original Post 20 February: The Tenerife Forum member Colleen is auctioning a mould of her teeth before dental work. Not the sort of thing one might normally bid for, perhaps, but in this case, it’s for an extremely good cause. The selected charity is the Betlemistas Nuns, in Arona. Just four nuns provide daily food and clothing to the many local poor and disadvantaged who do not qualify for state help, but the nuns themselves rely purely on charity to help these people. The difference of quality of life of the expat community and the local poor people is staggering.
The Tenerife Forum has already held a charity quiz for the Nuns and raised a great number of Christmas toys and games for local children which their parents could not hope to afford. Now there is another chance to help raise some money for this extremely worthy and desperately needed cause. You can follow the auction on ebay HERE, and any bid you might feel like making will obviously go towards increasing the total raised for the nuns. The bidding is currently at £41.00 (approx €46.78). Help Colleen to put the bite on poverty. Make a bid for her old teeth!
