The Intensive School of English in La Laguna will be putting on a production of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory in the Teatro Leal in La Laguna on Wednesday 11 July. The play will start at 7pm, with doors opening at 6.30pm. Tickets will be on sale from the Theatre, but if there are groups of 5 or more this can be arranged with organizers. There will also be a raffle to raise money for “Aldeas Infantiles” Charity.
ISE teacher Melinda Holloway says that the schools is “really excited about this as we will be the first language school to put on a production of this size, and in such a great theatre; the students have really come together to help out with everything”.
The theatre is indeed a great one, and even better than ever since its restoration some years back. It’s in Calle Obispo Rey Redondo, in the pedestrianised historic centre of La Laguna, and directly opposite the Hotel Aguere for tea or drinks, or even to stay overnight if going up from the south: it is five or so minutes walk, no more, from the La Trinidad terminus for the tram.
