A 72-year-old woman and a 47-year-old man were injuried in a head-on collision between a car and a van on the TF1 near Barranco del Río in the Granadila area this morning. Emergency services say that the motorway is again in chaos not just from tailbacks caused by the accident but from rubbernecking by drivers on the northbound carriageway. It took hours for traffic to move normally again. The woman had to be cut out of her vehicle, and was transferred with abdominal injuries to Candelaria Hospital where her condition is said to be serious. The man was transferred with chest injuries to Hospiten Sur where his condition is said to be comfortable.
