La Gomera man arrested in TFN as Police close in on La Orotava large-scale drugs traffickers

Policía Nacional officers from the Grupo de Respuesta Especial Contra el Crimen Organizado (Special Organized Crime Response: Greco) arrested a La Gomeran man at Los Rodeos airport on Saturday. He was carrying 23 kilos of extremely high-grade cocaine.

The man, identified by the initials A.B.S., from Hermigua, was picked up off a flight from Caracas, in Venezuela, where he had apparently gone as part of an organized scheme intending to import large quantities of drugs into these islands.

He is now in custody in Tenerife II, and the operation to catch others behind this organized trafficking continues. Further arrests are hoped for over the next few days, and police sources say that the network is centred in Valle de La Orotava. PV
