A large blaze that generated a huge amount of smoke that could be smelt as far away as Los Cristianos and parts of Guía de Isora broke out around 5am today in the Miraverde area near the car pound not that far from the CC Gran Sur in Adeje municipio. Despite much excitement on social media, with many photos of the smoke and discussion of its cause, the Ayuntamiento says that the fire broke out in cuttings from pruning works that had accumulated, the blaze finally brought under control around 10am by Consorcio bomberos and volunteer firefighters from Adeje and Guía de Isora. Thankfully, despite the visual effects and widespread smell, no personal or material damage has to be reported, with the fire only affecing the greenery. The bomberos have released this video of the works.
