Local road, water and electricity disruptions: electricity cuts in La Orotava Sunday 14 January

Updated 10 January: La Orotava Ayuntamiento has announced electricity cuts this Sunday, 14 January. The council says that various areas will be affected with various short cuts in order for maintenance works to be carried out. A map has been supplied HERE showing the areas affected.

Updated 9 January: Adeje Ayuntamiento has announced a cut to water supplies this Thursday 11 January in the wider El Madroñal area. The cut is for complicated works at a concreted-in junction box with multiple pipes and should see water off from 8.30am to 6pm. The areas affected are detailed clearly HERE.

Updated 8 January: Puerto de la Cruz Ayuntamiento has announced that Endesa will be carrying out maintenance works requiring electricity cuts on Tuesday, 16 January, between 4.30 and 9.35am. The cuts will affect the following streets:

– Camino Los Orovales
– Carretera del Este
– Carretera General Puerto Cruz – Las Arenas
– Camino Lazo

Ten-Bel (C/Minerva) and C/Trebol, Arona Ayuntamiento has now also announced one between 9am and 2pm on Tuesday 9 January in Las Galletas: the street affected is Calle Morro Cubas.

Updated 28 December 2017: Arona Ayuntamiento has announced an electricity cut on Wednesday 10 January between 8.30am and 1.30pm in the Costa del Silencio area affecting Urb. Chayofita, Av. José Antonio Tavío, C/San Miguel, C/Sirio, Urb. Ten-Bel (C/Minerva) and C/Trebol.

Updated 27 December: Arona Ayuntamiento has announced an electricity cut a week today, Wednesday 3 January between 8 and 11am in the following streets of Las Rosas and La Estrella:

C/Acorán, C/Arrieta, C/Bahía del Galgo, C/ Cumbre nueva, C/Famara, C/Isla Verde, C/Jameos, C/Mata Gorda, C/Orzola, C/Playa Blanca, C/Rubicón, C/Salinas del Janubio, C/Teguise, C/ Salinas del Janubio, C/Astron, C/Boreal, C/Austral, C/Cefeo, C/Saturno, C/Los Jameos, C/Júpiter, C/Ofluco, C/Virgen del Paso and C/Zodiaco.

The council has also announced an electricity cut on Tuesday 9 January between 9am and 2pm in Las Galletas. The following streets will be affected:

Updated 18 December: The Tenerife Cabildo has ordered the closure of the TF-1, direction from Santa Cruz, between Fañabe and the CC Gran Sur. The closure, to carry out roadworks, will be overnight tonight, from 10pm until 6am tomorrow, Tuesday 19 December. Diversions will be in place via Calles Budapest, Peralillo and Dublín (see map below). Drivers are advised to drive with caution.

13 December: Canaragua has announced a cut to drinking water supplies for routine maintenance work in Guargacho overnight tonight, 13-14 December, between 1 and 8am. The areas affected are Camino Los Gorones, Guargacho, Camino Guargacho Bajo, Polígono Industrial de Costa del Silencio – Guargacho, and the Virgen del Carmen social housing. Drinking water dispensers will be available. More information on 900 100 157.

And Santiago del Teide Ayuntamiento has announced that there will be cuts to the water supply in the whole of Los Gigantes on Friday, 15 December, between 9am and 2pm. The cut is due to improvement works being carried out by Entemanser.

Updated 22 November: Puerto de la Cruz Ayuntamiento has announced a water cut from 11pm tonight in the general supply in the Carretera del Durazno. The council says it hopes the supply will be back on it by 3am.  Areas affected will be San José, La Paz, Tucán, El Tope, and El Durazno.

Updated 13 November: Canaragua and Arona Ayuntamiento have announced that there will be a cuts to drinking water supplies for maintenance works this Wednesday, 15 November. The areas where residents could be affected are Guargacho and the Virgen del Carmen estate. Interruptions are expected to be between 7am and 1pm, and drinking water dispensers will be available for residents. Any enquiries should be made to the council on 900 100 157.

Updated 15 September: Guía de Isora Ayuntamiento and Unelco Endesa have announced a network fault causing cuts to the electricity supply in some parts of the municipality. Areas affected are Piedra Hincada, Agua Dulce and Chío, though customers in other areas could find their supply affected. The company is working to resolve the incident, apologises for the inconvenience, and directs enquiries to 900 85 08 40.

Updated 13 September: Guía de Isora Ayuntamiento has announced water cuts in Alcalá tomorrow for maintenance works on the public supply network. The water will be cut off in the whole of Alcalá between 8 and 9am. The council apologises for any inconvenience caused.

As always, there will be water tanks for the public’s use while supplies are disconnected.

Updated 12 April: The Canarian Government roads department has announced that final surfacing works are being carried out over the next three weeks on the TF1 beween the Erques junction and Santiago del Teide. The works have started this morning and will be carried out in phases as follows. Works should be completed by 2 May.

1. Between the Guía de Isora and Chio junctions, with traffic diverted onto the TF82, the original road between Adeje and Santiago del Teide over 11, 12 and 13 April.

2. Between the Guía de Isora and Tejina-Piedra Hincada junctions, with traffic diverted onto the TF82 over 14, 15 and 16 April.

3. Between the Tejina and Erques junctions, with traffic diverted onto the TF82 on 18 April.

4. In addition to the final surfacing of the TF1, the works will also include the Fonsalia spur access and subsurfacing theBicho tunnel between 18 and 22 April.

5. Between the Chio and Santiago del Teide junctions, 29 April to 2 May, during which the Bicho tunnel will be closed. Again the TF82 will serve for diverted traffic.

The Canarian Government’s Consejería de Obras Públicas y Transportes apologises to residents of the areas affected and to drivers for any inconvenience caused by the works. The authorities ask the public to cooperate and take notice of temporary road signs during this period.

Updated 19 February: More water supply cuts have been announced for Playa de Las Américas from 8am until around 3pm on Monday, 22nd. Again, Canaragua apologises for the inconvenience, which is to carry out works on the general supply network to improve the overall service. The company says that water reservoirs will again be available for those without tap water while works are ongoing.

Updated 17 February: In addition to today’s cuts (as below) to the water supplies in Arona, the council has announced more tomorrow, Thursday 18th, in Playa de las Américas. The whole area is set to be affected between 8am and 3pm, and Canaragua apologise for the inconvenience, saying that they are working to improve the network, and that water reservoirs will be available for those without tap water while works are ongoing.

Updated 16 February 2016: Arona Ayuntamiento has announced that Canaragua will be cutting domestic supplies tomorrow, Wednesday 17 February, between 8 am and 2pm for works to the network. The following areas will be affected: Buzanada, Los Migueles, Llanos de Guaza, Ctra. Gral. TF66 Buzanada-Guaza, Cho, Los Parlamentos, Los Fondos Quemada, Ctra. Gral. TF655 Guaza-Las Chafiras, Cañada Blanca, Cañada Verde, Malpaso, Los Bebederos, and Benítez. The company has supplied the following map of the general area which will be affected, and says that it will try to minimise the disruption and complete the works as soon as possible.
