Arrest made in Guaza car crash case

Update 29 February: Police say they have now arrested a driver who fled the scene of the tragedy in which the Belgian Silencio resident died. The detainee is thought to have caused the accident by overtaking dangerously.

Update 9.30 pm:  Locals have identified the poor victim as a Belgian resident of Costa del Silencio.

Update 5pm: Very sadly, this poor man has now died in hospital from the injuries he sustained in this crash.

Original post:  A 40-year-old man received multiple injuries in a car crash just before 7.30 this morning on the TF66 (Valle San Lorenzo to Las Galletas) in Guaza. The accident resulted in one car overturning and bomberos needing to cut the injured man free. He was transferred to Hospitén Sur in critical condition.
